McDell Marine specialises in FRP construction for vessels up to 80ft. Their production facilities allow them to handle a number of commissions within this range. The technologies and systems developed by McDell Marine together with state of the art joinery, composite and fit out bays ensure delivery of yachts and powercraft to the highest international standards. Their team take pride in combining traditional craftsmanship with ‘bespoke production’ technologies to build boats for marketers of established international brands.
They commenced building boats at their yard in Auckland in the early 1970s and since that time have built over 10,000 craft, many of which have been exported all over the world. They have been building exclusively for export since 1999. McDell Marine is a NewZealand owned and operated company specialising in Composite project and series-build boats for marketers of well-established international brands. A division of the Marine Industry Association, BITO’s special character as an industry training organisation is built on the long tradition of apprenticeships in New Zealand’s boating industry.
